En 2005, fue galardonado con la V Llave de Oro del Cante, “por la dignificación y universalización del flamenco, y la relevancia de sus aportaciones creativas y su contribución a la revitalización de estilos en desuso”. Gracias a sus aportaciones el flamenco vivió una renovación y un resurgir que duran hasta hoy en día. La historia de Antonio Fernández Díaz “Fosforito” es la historia de los últimos 90 años del flamenco. Con este documental, su director, Alejandro Fernández, se adentra en la historia de este género a través de la biografía de su padre, Fosforito.

Fosforito is one of the greatest idols in the history of the Flamenco art. In 2005, he was awarded the 5th Gold Key of Flamenco Singing for dignifying and universalising flamenco and for the importante of his creative contributions in revitalising styles in disuse. Thanks to his contributions, flamenco went through a renewal and rebirth that still last nowadays. The history of Antonio Fernández Díaz, Fosforito is the living history of the last 90 years of flamenco.
