L'industria del cortometraggio italiano - Report 2014 è il primo studio di questo genere condotto in Italia e nasce dalla profonda necessità di delineare i contorni di un comparto che a oggi stenta a ottenere il proprio riconoscimento. Un settore produttivo e, a tutti gli effetti, industriale, di carattere sperimentale e di spiccata vitalità, ma che arranca sul versante della distribuzione appoggiandosi quasi esclusivamente alla vetrina costituita dalla rete dei festival. Partendo dalla definizione di cosa sia un cortometraggio e dai necessari confronti con il panorama europeo, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i contributi pubblici, il Report 2014 si concentra sulla programmazione dei maggiori festival italiani e internazionali e sull'apporto alla diffusione garantito dalle emittenti televisive, con i loro contenitori dedicati. La presenza dei dati produttivi e dei costi stimati, ottenuti tramite gli stessi produttori dei corti, costituisce infine un valore imprescindibile.
The Italian film industry-2014 Report is the first study of this kind conducted in Italy and comes from a deep need to sketch out the outlines of an industry that today is struggling to get its own recognition. A productive sector and, in effect, industrial, experimental and strong vitality, but trudging on the distribution network of almost exclusively from the leaning festival. Starting from the definition of what a short film and by the necessary comparisons with Europe, especially with regard to Government grants, the 2014 Report focuses on programming of the major Italian and international festivals and on the contribution to the diffusion provided by broadcasters, with their dedicated containers. Production data and estimated costs, obtained by the same producers of the shorts, constitutes a key value.
